Possibly too much inertia and not enough intelligence or friction. 130 Puma HCPU with an Artica 240LR Demountable Camper

Yes a four wheel drive is great in snow but once you touch the brakes it's no different to any other car! Defender 90XS SW

there's a chain of cars in the snow - does that count?

does abs work in reverse - I presume it does - but looking at the vid maybe not ?

ABS generally is a disadvantage in snow and will extend the stopping distance rather than reduce it (which is why many vehicle have/used to have an OFF switch for snowy conditions).

I don't know why, but for some reason when I play that clip the sound-track is running at double speed, which make it sound as though the whole thing is being filmed by Smurfs! It is actually hilariously funny! Rolling with laughter

I think the vid has been speed up for effect ? - hence sounds like its been recorded by smurfs?

in these particular circumstances I'd have thought the abs would be help? but not as helpful as decent tyres Thumbs Up

ABS is utter dog 5h1T.Its for people who really can't emergancy (any hard) brake. It's a fact non-abs vehicle stops quicker than abs vehicles with a good driver, sadly most drivers stop quicker with ABS vehicles.
In the yard at no more than 20mph I stamped hard on my brakes a few days ago in a 40 tonne articulated truck (testing the abs connection lead).ABS NEVER kicked in.Slid at least 10ft to a stop.

Even with ABS (Impreza) I have stopped quicker using cadence breaking(|the old fashioned way). Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5.

I don't know who posted that on youtube, but it is a sped up version of a 5 year old movie. It is not 22 January 2016 in New York for sure. Here is the original movie with normal speed and sound, not the Helium Smurfs...

You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.
