Our leisurely Sunday morning was interrupted by a close encounter with a herd of WMIKs that had inadvertently ended up down our lane. They are not an uncommon sight around here as we are surrounded by Salisbury Plain and we knew there was an exercise on this weekend as our shoot had been unable to access a chunk of "our" land.
My driveway was a convenient turn around spot and we even had a cheery wave when they left. Slightly unnerving having a .50 cal HMG pointing in your direction but i'm hoping they drive unloaded. There's a metre square sign at the top of the lane banning any non-SPTA HQ military traffic but it happens occasionally, and in this case their commander didn't see it (!!!???). Made my morning, to be honest, and after a mooch around a load of parked-up WOLFs yesterday it made for an interesting weekend all told ... Apologies for the poor pic quality.
