With good quality shock absorbers like Fox you would be better going softer on the springs, up to 20% depending on the amount of load you are carrying about.
Are your shocks adjustable, if so I would definitely not go stiffer unless you want a terrible ride. Have you tried Urban Truck, they lower a lot of there Defenders. 90 300 TDI SW (sold)
