It doesn't help when 1 set of keys are in the ignition and the spare set in the cubbybox

Is it cold and icy? I find my central locking a bit sluggish in very cold conditions.

Same happened to me with my last Defender (Puma) a couple of years ago at a shoot. I was sat in a field in the middle of nowhere and the 90 locked itself with the keys in the ignition, I tried my mates Hilux key in the door lock, just in and no more, and surprisingly it was enough operate the lock. And yes it was cold, very cold.

At least you have central locking, without it you will forget to disarm the alarm when you unlock manually... my landy loves to greet me with the siren and horn
