“Police… nothing they could do”

When I was a kid living at home with my parents in London, a “don't park outside my house, that's for my car not yours” dispute between neighbours got to the state of criminal damage and punch-ups. For once, my family wasn't involved…

The Police simply put no parking cones on both sides of the street for a couple of weeks, no parking at all for anybody. Surprise, surprise, the Police were never bothered again.

Probably couldn't happen today - those who didn't have Blue Badges would complain that their Human Rights had been infringed - but be careful what you wish for.
