Edzi, both are great LED headlights, different looks, the Speaker look a bit more "techno" than the more classic looking Nolden. So see what is better looking on yours.
And without going into very technical explanation of what is a position light ![]() Jeez, now I gave you that very technical explanation after all. ![]() ![]() Good luck with your choice. ![]() Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

Cheers Eric, much appreciated
![]() ![]() Mine's a regular 90 XS, so guess the position light isn't needed ![]() |

For position light, please read marker light or parking light.
Basically the idea is to get away from the term side light, I.e. Not a light to have illuminated whist driving but a light to just mark the position of it whilst stationary. It is legal to have two pairs of position/parking lights. However if your vehicle already has a set of position/parking lights you do not have to connect a second set up. However it is not legal to have two sets of DRLs Brendan |

I've not had any experience with the Nolden headlights but i can full recommend the Evo2s.
I installed a pair on my 90 last month, along with full JW LEDs for the rest of the wagon, they make an incredible amount of difference to both the driving experience at night and to the look of the car, especially the DRLs! The light output is incredibly powerful as is the cleanliness of the light, hands down the best lights i've used on any car. The only issue is that they're so bright that cars keep giving me the odd flash thinking i have my full beams on! But yes, 100% worth the money. Fojjit ![]() |

Many thanks Brendan
![]() So this is the light that comes on when the light switch is clicked down once right? I have the regular grill that came as standard with my 90XS, so have this light. Two questions; so it's legal and ok to have the Noldens installed and have the position light wired up too, right? Also, can I just install these and not have the position light working? I've seen you have a chrome version of this light without the position light, but I really would like to have the lights in black. Cheers, Edzi ![]() |

Correct Edzi, perfectly legal
You do not have to have the position lights wired up. The connector is fitted to the light and then a blanking plug is in. We have bought all the Land Rover over stock of clear chrome without position lights which are fitted to the final editions. These are OEM lights. With position lights we can offer clear chrome, dark chrome or matt black with position lights. Any questions ask away. Brendan |
