If it spat ALL the oil out it may not have liked it at all.If it's just the chain broken then expect some or all of the following. Piston and valve contact probable, damage to head possible, debris in sump, bent rods, damage to bores. Only visible when you pull the head off.
Pull the rocker cover, you should be able to tell if the chain has parted company. If it has, head off, inspect and be prepared to scrap the lot..... .....or you may be lucky. It wasn't me! |

I wasn't lucky.
Whipped the rocker off. Chain snapped, chain guides in many small pieces, lots of scoring to inside of timing case. Bits of valve stem snapped off. Followers not following any more, rollers escaped. Looks like armageddon in there! I'll throw some photos up later. New block for me! And a conversation with the guys that recon'd it, 210k ago! |

Bad luck chap. Considering the sheer amount of mucking about, if it was mine and I needed it on a daily basis I'd just chuck another engine in it.

^^^ That's disturbing! I thought Turner Engineering was meant to be pretty good.

They are in fairness. I suspect a bit of bad fortune in this case

I replaced my 10 p engine with a 15p engine. In doing so I had to change the engine wiring loom and the lid from the air filter as the 15 p loom has a different sensor to the 10 p.
Also the injectors are different and you will need to have the new ones programmed to the ecu Did mine on the drive lol Click image to enlarge |

If fitting a 15p engine to a earlier vehicle I believe the ECU has to be reprogrammed as the 15p fuel pressures are different.
Maybe this is why you had a running problem before? Kind Regards Will 2005 90 XS 1954 86'' Series 1 tilt 1968 88” 2A 200tdi 2002 110 Hardtop |

That last post of mine should say 21k since the refurb, not 210k!
It could be one of the running problems, I've been talking to tazzukcb off here, and he's said the same. It seems to have a 15p head based on the fpr. It has black top injectors. The engine number looks to have been removed. It has the earlier style egr pipe. I think it might have been supplied as a 15p short engine with the old 10p ancillaries fitted. Waiting on a build sheet or something from turners. |

Having spoken with Turners, they will not offer any warranty help due to the time, but it is a 15P short engine, with all the original 10P ancillaries refitted.
Balls. Solution: Source a 10P engine, OR source a 15P engine and new injectors!! |

You can pick a good 10P up for 400 to 600 complete. I'd be chucking another straight in its place. There was one for sale down here for 350 the other day but its a bit of a trek for you...

If it's a known good runner I'd be tempted... Long way but the round trip would only cost me 50 in fuel in the other car!
