light bars, spot lights, Mounting without Drilling / wiring

Hello

While in the Lakes a few other Defender drives not only waved at us but also we had the full beam of the roof lights,

The Mrs liked these a lot

so not one to miss an opportunity while Its rare I get the actual OK to spend on my Defender...

Can you get a bar that doesn't need to be drilled into the gutter?

How are the lights wired in (I guess a hole has to be made for the cables?) where does this run to.

Any pictures people have of their set ups, round lights , square, led etc...

This is the type of bar I guess but would rather not have to drill?

IIRC D44 used to do a clamp on light bar. Couldn't find it on the site the other day but maybe have a look.

Cable routing, a RAI or Snorkel is ideal to route them if you have one?

You can get clamp on bars and cables can be run up behind the door seals without needing to drill anything. At most you might need to take a little 'check' out of the corner of the door pillar but it is hidden by the seal and if you are really worried about leaks a spot of silicon will seal it up.

The cable comes out of the front corner of the door just at the gutter and on to the bar. very little exposed wire.

Nakatanenga do a stainless steel light bar which clamps onto rain gutter, powder coated one here

4 brackets for lights plus a bracket for an aerial

I actually prefer the unbranded one without a motif even if that would be better long term? At £55 On a black Defender it should almost blend in,

It would need some black caps over the bolts, I did notice the 'posh'one seems to have holes either ends for the cables...

Will look at lights and have a think.

I guess you have to drill through somewhere to get the cables in?
