Heater question
As it has been getting a bit cool in the morning, I 've popped on the heat...ooops antifreeze smell ( sweet syrup like)
anyone have the same or am I looking at a heater core issue? I haven't seen anything under the hood to lead me to believe this...

Cheers

Heater A'Freeze smell
Is the expansion tank screw top tight?
Although you can't see a leak, it might have moisture with A'Freeze smell in the enginne compartment transferring to the cabin.
Otherwise, any leaks in and around the heater matrix and corresponding hoses!
good luck

heater valve
if its a puma - my heater valve, controlling the hot water to the heather element, leaks when i first turn the heater up, seems to stop again when the hot water gets running, or if i leave it on cold. its located top of the engine bay just below the windscreen on the LHS for RHS drive vehicle. may be that?

so, I just pulled up the carpet on the drivers side and found a bunch of fluid...this all came about when I came home yesterday and noticed dripping. looks like I am in for a heater core... 2008 Defender 110 60 year Edition (sold unfortunately)
