You have to check with how many bolts the swivels are bolted to the casing. There are 2 different types but I don't know when it was changed. If the fit you can change the axle casing. Roel

There are several different CV joints as well, only small length differences as far as I know but enough not to let it fit together.
I'm not sure if the changes was in this time period but it is something I came across when changing internals over between axles for a friend removing lockers who had bought axles. 2015 RRS Autobiography SDV6 1994 Def 90 300tdi |

If you are just going to change the axle casing then the above should not be a problem, but if you are going to mix parts you have to be carefull.
The I would advise to search online for a downloadable version off a Rave disc for Land rover. ( the security feature is most off the time the current date set in your computer) With that you can exactely find the part numbers belonging to the axles and compare them. Thanks for the replys. Much appreciated.
Yeah what i want to do take the 200tdi axle. Take everything out of it including the stub axles with c.vs half shafts etc and fit the 300tdi axle. So pretty much its just the middle part of the axle that will be replaced. |

That should be doable, presuming you are changing the diff as well as they went from 10 spline to 24 spline so your 200Tdi shafts will not fit into a 300Tdi diff.
Only differences I can think of off the top of my head are the radius arms as you already know, plus you may find some diff studs are different lengths - though these could be transferred over too with care. |

All the innards have already been replaced with ashcroft parts as far as im aware and its an air locking diff. Really surprised the last owner went to all the hassle and kept the old casing. Guess it just must have been what he had available.
Thanks again. Rod |
