Is the rechargeable battery a standard model or is it one that isn't replaceable?

Welcome...
But don't forget there is a 1/4" extra at the bottom of the ruler though... Should have had that showing I suppose, to do the job properly, the tin underneath is exactly that 1/4"... Whats the wiring plan anyone? Does it just need an ignition positive and a ground? Andy

My package just arrived.
I am extremely impressed by the whole unit. Torch is black anodised aluminium and slots into the holder with a reassuring click. A red/green LED shows the state of charge. The torch beam is bright white, but as already posted, the beam pattern is nothing to write home about. Otherwise it is a first class addition to any modern Defender. Wiring is plugīn play. Delivered with the unit is a "y" cable that plugs in between the factory 12v/earth wiring loom and the 12v socket in the boot of a Discovery or Evoque. Fitting the torch into the dash, as TheWarden showed us the original thread would enable the supplied cable to be hooked up without modification to the 12v dash socket. Iīm currently undecided as to whether to fit it vertically into the dash or horizontally into the left hand side of the cubby box. The 65mm depth dictates that it wonīt fit into the door panel , but could possibly find a place in the rear side covings below the side windows. Almost a shame to let it hide back here, methinks. 1998 Tdi 90 SW, 2008 Td4 90 SW, 2012 2.2 90 SW, 2" raised Trailmaster/Terrafirma Heavy Track Raids, 255 MTīs, Recaro CSīs, anorak, wellingtons |

I am not sure it can sit totally flush there, the torch surround is flat, the dash sides are curved. If covered in leather yes but for this exercise I am sticking it on the side of my cubby..can always patch and re trim the cubby easier than the dash Andy
