Seat boxes, MXC8555 and MUC6167

Ok I am currently tearing down my project 90, and the seat box is looking a little dodgy. I know repair parts are avalible however looking in the parts list there are two boxes listed V8 MUC6167 up to 455945 £397.83 exc vat and V8-lt85 MXC8555 from 455946 £1,721.33 exc vat.

Now my chassis number is pre 455945 however I have a lt85 box, so can someone enlighten me on the difference between the two as the price is hugely different, I assume I would need MXC8555 but think repairs would happen if so.

Probably lt95 vs lt85 box is the diff.

Given afaik its only the gearbox aperture which is different then you could modify a later seat box to fit ? More choice to go at. There's no way I'd pay nearly 2k for a seat box!

I was hoping it would be that simple, I do have a mate who is good at ally welding for beer.
I have found a website that says postage of the seatbox is £4.50 to Guernsey so that's vat £397 free, also a new bulkhead at £2052, so total £2455 not too bad me thinks.

All this is up in the air for now until I have it all in many many bits and inspect it all.

You can get a galvanised bulkhead from ashtree for less than a grand for info.
