Hello....
New here (although signed up to disco4.com)... Potentially looking to get a camper / day van and I think SWMBO is convinced (now) that a defender conversion is a good idea... I don't really have the time to do it myself, so would be looking to get a firm to do it, any recommendations / advise? Obviously still need to get a defender... Would be looking to get a 110, ideally post 2007, so TDCi, ideally a county (so it has the windows) but would consider a utility. I've seen: http://www.camperhus.co.uk/9/Land-Rover-Camper.html any thoughts on this? Thanks |

You might want to look at Farcorners in St. Neots. Might be more than you're looking for but they'll do pretty much anything you want I think.

Thanks - I'll talk to them once I've found a base car! Certainly worth knowing about.
The camper conversions they have look lovely, but are a lot more than I want - just a day van really on a defender - but I guess they could do this too. |

^ That's my idea
I've been looking at the pull out kitchens you can get for a T5 / Mazda Bongo? Lots of kit but not much specific to the Defender |

something like this ..... ??
Click image to enlarge more in my gallery ... there are many ways to set up a 110 for camping - this is ours and it is a Dormobile set up. We have used it on many trips all over the UK and Europe over the last 15 yrs. As the kit is made for 110's it can be moved from vehicle to vehicle as we have done in our last 2 defenders. look at others and ask how often they use it, how long for and what they would change. Keep the weight down low and take less than you think you need - and get out and enjoy it ! Poppy - TDCI (Puma) 110XS 2.2 - Camper conversion - see the build here - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic56530.html Elgar -TDCI(Puma) 110XS Dormobile - now sold Devon & Cornwall 4x4 Response - DC126 |
