Puma self service
Hi, looking to carry out my first filter and fluid service. Looking at kits on they bay, prices vary from £20ish up to over £80.

Does any one have a recommendation for the 2.4 Puma?

Thanks in advance

The ALLMAKES PR2 service kit is good. Two year guarantee.

Filter kits do vary but you can narrow it down to either..

*Pattern parts - Uses a supplier own brand of filters...
*OEM - will use oem filter from named brands i.e mann or Mahle
*Gen - Will use genuine land rover parts..

IMHO filters a are vital part in keeping your engine clean and ergo it's future life so I would look at using good quality OEM filters.

A good quality OEM kit would be about £37 - £45 quid with about £6 allowable for postage. The higher prices could be those who include the oil with the kit too. But I find many owners are quite particular about brands of oil they want so hence kits still being done by individually.

Stanadyne filters are very good, and don't forget a new engine oil drain plug as the rubber seal on the plug compresses and doesn't always seal again on reuse. Thumbs Up I started with nothing and still have most of it left!

Drain plug comes in the PR2 service set, and the fuel filter in the PR2 service set is Stanadyne. I've used the PR2 item a number of times. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel
