Old starter motor
Had the 'click' and nothing else problem, which I think indicates solenoids. Changed whole starter unit few weeks ago and no problems at all since.

Got old unit back, but not sure if it merits restoration? Thoughts...

Always handy as a spare I guess, a solenoid refurb kit is not expensive and it's easy enough to do it yourself.

Having said that, they generally last for years and if you're anything like me you'll have forgotten where you left it by the time you do actually need it Laughing

I repaired both my TD5 Defender and TD5 Discovery using the kit below from ebay when they had the problem.

It's worth refurbishing the original and either putting on the shelf or selling to recover some pennies..

Just a thought.....
