Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge I have a car shower thingy from Amazon , a 5litre bottle of water and a towelling coat , shower them off before they get in the car , whack on their coats and by time we are home they are dry ! I also have a paw plunger which I fill with warm water and hibiscrub and use that too . We've had many cases of 'Alabama Rot ' here on the forest so I tend to be a bit paranoid about washing their legs after we've been on the Forest Also have a fantastic made to measure Tuffie dog bed which wicks away moisture , not cheap but well worth the money IMHO! |

Bought one of these for our gang as drying seven dogs can be a pain.
http://www.ideas-4-pets.co.uk/aeolus-dog-b...bcdfdda4f2 Would absolutely not be without it now. I started with nothing and still have most of it left! |

I can't help but agree with most of your replies, the wife will just have to go!
I hose and towel at the moment like most of you, still seems to get mud all over the kitchen and hall (fortunately all tiled no carpet). Really like the idea of putting a mixer shower and walk through drying bay alongside the main shed, see what the guys down the lane think of that! |

My workers get towelled down before coming in but if they are very mucky will get a hose down in the yard or dunking in one of the huge tubs that we use for the horses water in their stables. Ours are only allowed in the kitchen, office and utility room and not other rooms downstairs except for a rare treat, they are not permitted upstairs.
Oh and the terriers get towelled off or kennelled if they are in a have a go mood! Steve. Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades. Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW. [Insert something impressive here such as extensive list of previous Land Rovers or examples of your prestigeous and expensive items, trinkets, houses, bikes, vehicles etc] http://forums.lr4x4.com I used to be Miserable ...but now I'm ecstatic. |

I have a bed with a fleece blanket in the back of the landy which does a great job of drying the dogs off after a walk over the moors etc. We have hot and cold running water outside and an old small zinc bath if the dogs (three Springers and a GSD) are wet or muddy they are showered off and dried before being allowed in the house. The two younger dogs are always bathed on shoot days when we get home and they have an oil filled radiator on a timer in their kennel, I don't like putting them to bed when they are wet. They also have fleece coats with the exception of Cassie the Shepherd as she doesn't like to be covered up. Then there always the log burner in the living room.
My wife pretends to complain as she's always cleaning up after them a lot of work but I reckon that 4 kids would be a hell of a lot more! Uncas |
