Never been on Facebook (nor twitter etc) and never will.
Hell will freeze over first! Therefore I am not qualified to have an opinion! |

BookFace has some right self-opiniated gobby on it...
Most sensible discussions are liable to very quickly degenerate into argumentative, rude and filthy language at less than the drop of a hat... It really is a haven for scumbags, trolls and lowlife, wind-up idiots... Myself not included, of course... Rog... The GREEN One... Don’t you have to be an underperforming schoolkid to be on Facebook or at least have the mentality of one?
For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at.. http://www.youtube.com/user/conwy1 |

Have both
Growing less interested in Facebook of late. Been finding Facebook is a platform to put forward views and ram them home. The admin on the Facebook think they are more important but it's very easy to have a page. Also very look at me and what I've got. I have stuck with this forum but feel there's more interest in the looks of defenders. But am torn because it's great so many people are interested in defenders. I've had lots of help here. More than happy with the site rules. Even enjoy the thousand question people, buy a defender throw thousands at it then sell it after 3 months. First joined this site because of the defender2 name and the thought we may learn more about the new defender. But will need the forum as my current defender will get old and tired and need looking after. |

I know that even on here there are those that think they have the right to berate someone just because they disagree with their opinion but fortunately we have a good "Boss" who moderates and keeps things sensible.
From what I've seen FB isn't policed and these trolls just become more and more aggressive / obnoxious / rude / etc. Therefore I'd argue that on average the likes of FB are far worse (but then there are "the other" LR forums that aren't quite as nice a place to be). As a friend, now deceased, used to say "Assume everyone is an hole untll proven wrong!!" But then he also used to say "The trouble with folk is they tend to have their own opinions - and they're usually wrong!" |

I've no interest in Facebook, All seems a bit "Jeremy Kyle" to me.
I've seen links to discussions on the series Land Rover pages. It all Just seems like rubbish .. I'm sure it has good points, but not for me. 80" 80" 86" 88" 90" Wanted, Forward Control Anything considered. Last edited by ian series 1 on 8th Dec 2015 7:33pm. Edited 1 time in total |

FB groups are only as good as the administrators that moderate and generally keep an eye on them, rather like this place really. Steve.
Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades. Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW. [Insert something impressive here such as extensive list of previous Land Rovers or examples of your prestigeous and expensive items, trinkets, houses, bikes, vehicles etc] http://forums.lr4x4.com I used to be Miserable ...but now I'm ecstatic. |

Facebook is, like forums, what you make of it.
I'm on fb and enjoy it, though people can't help being sheep and post/share stuff willynilly, without knowing, or even wanting to learn the big picture...like the guy who shot that lion. Facebook and Twitter ruined his and his families lives. |

FB is the perfect example of you get out what you put in.
If you select your friends carefully and only join groups that you have an interest in it can be a great place. I use it daily. Even if it's just to see what my mates had for breakfast. 110 D250 SE HT 110 USW SOLD RRE HSE Dynamic Gone, wife killed it VOLVO XC60 R Dynamic with some toys Polaris RZR 900XP SOLD |

I like Angry Pumas purely for quickly looking at people's photos and a little banter, but for serious queries and research it has to be def2!!

Some interesting comments.
As a company Barbara and I have to use various forms of social media. Yes social media can be a good marketing tool. One of the things I do not like on Facebook is the standard of English. Sorry I am not interested in what you had for breakfast or how many beers you had before you threw up. Must admit I am glad that Facebook is not easily searched as the level of knowledge, ability to read and the ability to comprehend written English shown by some posters on face book is truly diabolical. A couple of examples, there is a BIG difference between the expressions 'may have fitted' and 'must have fitted' Also there is a BIG difference between a company being a sole distributor of an item and a company being the manufacturer. The trouble is when people read inaccurate statements on sites such as Face book they believe them because it is on the internet! OK rant over, soap box away Brendan |
