Hi Wild card 90,
No I don’t have tow hitch, but I have noticed that when turns the indicator light the tow hitch indicator flash one time very quick, don’t know if these is natural or maybe that could be part of the problem. No, the indicators light up very well so the brake light. I don’t know why the engine stops. |

Well I’m very glad for every respond you guys gave me, seems its have to be something electric that is giving me this odd behavior, I’m taking my landy to the mechanic next Monday, I will print all the posts and star searching with him everything you guys told me to see if I can find something, the things I will be checking are:
-Every earth connection (everywhere) - Fuse (all of them) -Relays -Rear lighting circuits -The wiring round the ignition switch - Every wiring I let you know if I can find the problem and fix it!. Thanks a lot!! for everything! |

Raul,
Si buscas en el sitio puedes encontrar la dirección) Saludos desde Chile Eduardo MY 2007 110 SW PUMA 2.4: Big Fog of 64' MY 1994 Jayco 1207 Folding camper: "El Tremendo" Click image to enlarge |

Hola Eduardo,

ECU = engine control unit or engine management system
DTC = diagnostic trouble code It is normal for the trailer indicator light on the dash to flash once when the turn signals are activated. |

@Raul, remove the instrument cluster and check the plug into the back. It sits in a groove and is not always installed correctly. The fault sounds as if it is electrical, more so on the immobiliser side (even if there is no alarm as standard there will be a 10AS unit fitted), does the immobiliser red light on the IPAC light up or flash after the engine shuts down when using the brake or the indicators, you may have to wait 30 seconds or so? If you have a diagnostic tool see what fault codes are logged in the EMS, IPAC and any events logged in the 10AS (Alarm). Post up here or pm them to me.
The brake light switch and the indicators have a feed into the instrument cluster as does the immobiliser feed to the EMS ( The 10AS transmits the mobilisation signal to the IPAC which then sends it on to the EMS). Without me actually physically looking at the IPAC and the associated wiring loom there may be a fault in the loom causing the immobiliser signal from the IPAC to the EMS to be interrupted resulting in the engine shutting down, more so if the fault occurs when the brake pedal or indicators are used as the are enclosed within the same loom. The fault could be with the IPAC ( Instrument Cluster U/S), the IPAC plug or a break in the IPAC loom causing a short. Have a look at the IPAC and wiring, if no fault is found pm me and I will tell you how to bypass the immobiliser and give a valid mobilisation signal to the EMS so the engine starts and runs. If the engine runs without shutting down when using the indicators or brake then that will narrow down the cause and where to look. HTH |

Just watched your second video. That is so wierd. Within a matter of second, and just by restarting the motor, the behaviour changes!
Strange (and could be a clue) is that when the motor dies, no warning lights come on...until you turn back the ignition key to restart, when the dash lights briefly flash, as the key is turned back. As Lorryman suggests, look in the direction of the ignition lock, instrument cluster and the immobiliser. Because the lights don´t come on, it could well be the immobiliser, or a bad connection to it. 1998 Tdi 90 SW, 2008 Td4 90 SW, 2012 2.2 90 SW, 2" raised Trailmaster/Terrafirma Heavy Track Raids, 255 MT´s, Recaro CS´s, anorak, wellingtons |

^^Or a bad earth in one of the many headers, gives the same symptoms of no warning lights displayed on the IPAC.
Try replacing fuse 15 (Ignition) and fuse 30 (IPAC), give the contacts a good clean before inserting new fuses. This removes a couple of items as the culprit. |
