^^^What he said^^^
Rust is the big issue! Inner quarter panels, sills, footwells, inner wings, front light panels. They look good until you take the body panels off! Nothing like a 2 door rangie though. Wish I'd kept mine... ![]() Good luck with the search ![]() Wanted, Forward Control Anything considered. |

Having had two 4 door I agree with the above plus the upper part of the tailgate. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to ![]() Richard |

Yes I concur with the above comments, I rebuilt my 71 Rangy some 20 years ago and virtually had to replace all the steel substructure with new. The only other things I would add is that the very early ones had no power steering which made tem quite heavy to manoeuvre. The early engines had a "rope" rear crank oil seal which wasn't that good. They are simple cars to work on and lovely to drive. I used mine daily for 10 years and I regretted selling it although funnily enough I saw it for sale at Silverstone Auctions 18 months ago and it was in a right state unfortunately but luckily the chassis and steelwork still looked ok due no doubt to comprehensive rust proofing when rebuilt.
