A known issue, I believe there is an existing thread or two about it on here somewhere. Steve.
Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades. Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW. [Insert something impressive here such as extensive list of previous Land Rovers or examples of your prestigeous and expensive items, trinkets, houses, bikes, vehicles etc] http://forums.lr4x4.com I used to be Miserable ...but now I'm ecstatic. |

firstly lets hope it's nothing to do with petrol.
as ever it's probably going to through you off on a wild goose chase but might be worth checking all the same - I only found this recently and have owned the def since new and bar 2 services have done all the filter changes myself........ is the fuel filter on properly? below shows 3 marks. 1st being where you engage the filter and the 3rd being fully fitted. 2nd mark being where mine was fitted. no cost potential fix so worth a try. good luck. |

I may be barking up the wrong tree , but filled it up today and added some Redex diesel additive to see if that makes any difference

My 2.4 occasionally does these little surges, especially when cold. Driving at very low revs while feathering the throttle when cold does it and I either change down or just give it a bit more right foot and it will go.

Morning Gents,
I thought this was due to it being fly by wire and the "mismatch" between the two at low revs and speed. It was a little annoying at first but happens less and less as you get used to it. I didn't think this was considered a fault as such and I've just adapted my driving to work around it. I'm interested to know if anyone has had this looked at by a dealer and have had it fixed.
