15 more years?
As seen on a French LR forum:

http://www.landmania.com/forum/showthread....ost1290927

With a little help from Google translate, it reads as:

Well I think it's good new to see that someone is trying to keep the heritage going.

However it is yet to be see what restrictions will be imposed by the light transport vehicle rules!!!!!!

Well I would always try to translate in from french to English the back to French and back to English to see off you get the same answer.

Some translators are unable to give you the same answer.

i don't care if all translation is ok, what i care is this part

"On pense aujourd'hui que le Defender pourra être commercialisé durant encore 15 ans". "We think now that the Defender will be marketed in another 15 years."

Interesting indeed, so they continue to sell them 'as is' but only as commercial vehicles (ie no more CSW's).

Does that mean they will can the replacement though???

Hope not as I want one, even though I have no idea what it looks like or how much it will cost Laughing Andy

Yes, that's my understanding, what we know as the Defender today would continue to be on the market for 15 more years and sold as a utility vehicle whereas the other luxury cars would be branded as Range Rover.

But I'd take all this with a grain of salt, this is just some news from a website, could be just rumors... Would be great news, if true...

Why not buying one now then? It's a more than 60 years proven design! Bow down

Beside, if this is true, it means that a current SW Defender will keep its value even longer... And there'll be no problem finding spare parts for a very long time from now Thumbs Up
