Ebay Scam Bag
I'm looking to buy a Defender 90 and I got in touch with this ad; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2002-LAND-ROVER-...Swf-VWUjUF

And funnily enough 'Sharon' the owner, yeah, clever strategy Scam Bag Wink, happens to be away on a business trip in France but another 'handling company' is very happy to deal with me and transact on the car. Jees, sad that some poor Censored must fall for this os they'd never do it. Anyway, just for your entertainment, here was my relay with 'Sharon' the 90 CSW owner. Sharon on the prowl: (Read from bottom to top)

And the price Sharon?
==========
Hi,
I've removed the ad because as I said someone was interested but don't have all the money together. Please find the photos attached to this email and the description bellow.

Sharon

2000 Land Rover Defender 90 County Station Wagon TD5 Turbo Diesel. Excellent condition throughout, genuine 52,005 miles and 3 previous owners from new, present owner since 30/04/2004. Full history and original handbooks and wallet. Recent new tyres and battery. Additional seat fitted between the front seats in place of the cubby box, which has been retained and will come with the car. Twelve months MoT.
==========

Where is your advert placed please Sharon?

==========

Hi,
In order to go ahead with this transaction just contact APR Transport (www.apr-transport.com ) department that handles the sale directly at: info@apr-transport.com and they will assist you with any questions you might have regarding the transaction.
When contacting the APR Transport please specify my name ( Sharon Headley ) and the car make and model.
Thank you,
Sharon

==========

Hi Sharon, where did I find your advert, I’m unsure which car we’re talking about.

Thanks

James

==========

Hi,

First of all I want to thank you for your interest for my car. I've almost reached an agreement with a potential buyer. Unfortunately, it looks like there are some problems and he doesn't have all the money to pay, for the moment. It is in extremely good condition,100% HPI Clear, full service history. Currently I am on a business trip to France and will have to stay here for about 6 months (this is why I am selling the car for a low price and I am looking for a fast sale to finance the french project ). I left the car in APR Transport custody and they will handle the sale for me. The V5 log book is already signed on my behalf, the car will come with 2 keys, all service records and previous MOT's. APR Transport will deliver the car directly to your home address and I will pay all delivery expenses.
Let me know if you are interested.

Thank you,
Sharon

Price can be a clue to a scam.

It can also be a clue to goods which are stolen.

Especially if goods are 'new/genuine'

If new/genuine goods are being sold very cheaply they may well be stolen.

Have a look at the sellers feedback and other items for sale. If a private individual is selling multiple new/genuine items of the same thing where are they sourcing them from?

Now a private individual may well have a new item for sale which is an unwanted gift/mistaken purchase but multiple items??

Also read the description carefully.

i.e. Puma bonnet for sale. 'I am selling this on behalf of a friend who has sold his Defender' Really? Sold a Defender minus its bonnet??

Be very careful about buying items which are well below the normal price. Might be a bargain however you could be buying stolen goods and feeding the thieving scumbags cycle.

Also following on from Brendan, if the Five-O catch you with said stolen goods, whilst you will likely not be charged with 'handling' the goods will still be confiscated for return to the rightful owner (owner at the time of theft or insurance company if a payout has been made) and you will have no recourse, reimbursement, compensation, nada. Not so painful if it's 500 quid on a flat screen telly, but hugely painful if it's thousands on a car.... Whistle Monsieur Le Grenadier

I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list.....

There has been a huge influx of scam defenders on ebay over the last two weeks, I try to report them all to eBay but most of the time ebay don't seem to care. See this link
