No, it just bolts to the body (which does have reinforcing plates). It you think about it though, it is prob a bit stronger than just clamping to the gutter rail on the roof.

It does appear that some TRs had supports running down inside the wings / body - but not all. That is just LR Special Vehicles for you I guess Laughing

Yeah, I was looking at one of these for my DC but thought there were parts issing.... after some reserch it is purely cosmetic! Shocked .... if you are going to do a job do it properly.... hmmmm, don't think LR belive that.

Tarrafican !!??!! Rolling with laughter
yes, it is the same rack on my truck, they offer very little in the sense of "roll" protection but quite a bit in body protection, they fasten to the roof gutters as well and are really strong roof racks, besides looking great... and seeing as it is my everyday drive I'm not sure I would want the extra (considerable) weight of a "proper roll cage" ..by far the best looking rack out there, it has great facility for roof lights and great concealment of wiring for front and back work lights, not a wire or cable tie in sight. Thumbs Up !!

Eduardo, just wondering how many kilometres you found to be a minimum between remote fuel stations on your South American adventure recently. Did your red jerry cans see you feulled up at all times?

Seb Thumbs Up
