Just watched it myself, I thought it was a good fair comparison. I didn't appreciate how capable the Wrangler was off road before modifications I must admit - lets hope that the replacement Defender can compete.

Enjoyed that,
Has me tempted to see if I can get a drive in a Rubicon just to see for myself My confidence has been writing cheques that my abilities can't cash for years. |

Fair comparison.
When I start to see a 4x4 for the family one thing gives the Defender the prize: The capacity (7 seats) + roofrack + 3 ton trailer. I'm not a guy to be playing in the rocks mud or sand if is not necessary. For that probably a Rubicon will be a good option But anyway the Defenders goes near in that. I did, earler this year on vacation in Curacao I rented one. It is so much more a (big) car, drives smooth, much more comfort and better seating postion, but then indeed almost no storage room and: total lack of character! So, good review, my conclusion were the same Cheers, Vincent 1959 Polynorm 1/4 Ton Trailer, Olive Drab Green (sold) 1970 M416 Military Trailer (Camping Trailer Conversion), Epsom Green (sold) 1975 Series III 88 V6, Light Green (sadly sold) 1996 Defender 110 CSW 300 Tdi, Epsom Green (sold) 2000 Freelander 1 TD4 3-drs, Silver (sold) 2006 Freelander 1 TD4 5-drs Facelift Automatic, Tonga Green (sold) MySite |

It doesn't need to have much storage for an owner to carry their scissors and curlers......

I owned one for 5 years. Tons of fun. Now that I'm an adults with a real job I drive a Defender. You can't measure what a Defender offers. How do you objectively measure the feeling of turning over your TD5 after a long day of work or the quality of the people who own Defenders and post on sites like this one! It's a different culture a different way of looking at adventure a different way of living and looking at life. For me I'll never own any thing else but a Defender.
