Wiring TD5 front dash speaker’s help wanted
My friend wants to wire in new front speakers into his TD5, at present his speakers are in the headlining but he wants to install them as standard in the two speaker holes in the bottom dash, which will mean threading the speaker wires to the speaker holes as there is no wiring installed there at present.

Question, how easy or hard is it to route speaker wires from the head unit to the dash speaker holes. Is it possible to use a flexi rod or cable pulling rod from the head unit aperture in the dash to the speaker holes somehow or does the dash bottom and other parts of the dash have to be removed. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

I got speaker wires from the headunit into those positions relatively easily on my 1988, and the main dash construction is not vastly different to a Td5. I used a thickish (2mm^2) cable as a puller.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

I did the same a while ago, albeit on an older model, fairly easy to pull through, I used a coat hanger to get it through, shouldn't take long to do, no need to remove the dash as it can be done in-situ, how easy it is might depend if you have air-con or not, just be patient!

Cheers will pass on the advice, though as my mate finds it difficult to do anything without breaking it, I will probably end up doing the job! For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..
