I had the same issue when I was running my v8.
It was caused for me by fuel vaporisation heat from the engine ,I wrapped some heat proof stuff around the fuel lines and it never happens again . Terry |

Nit of an update. Starts lovely on choke. Runs until semi warm and the come off the choke all seems well. When warm it starts the above symptoms and all clears if you give it choke again when warm........ Feels like you have set cruise control but she flies again.
baffled. Sounds like a carb issue 1951 80" S1 2.0 1995 110 300TDI 1995 90 300TDI |

Choke on increases fuel, so you appear to have a fuel/air issue.
Firstly check all breather pipes for splits.too much air would cause your symptoms and if you have a split in a pipe it sucks more air when you increase rpm. Check routing of fuel pipe and check fuel pump The reason I say this is the pump may not be working correctly, and when you switch off or go on tick over it primes back up, Easy to test, run a gravity fuel feed direct from another tank held above the height of the engine, It's all a case of trial and error. My 3.5 had similar problems and it turned out to be a split in breather pipe. Good luck, barry |
