Anybody had a remap by BHP UK?
As per the title, has anybody had a remap done by BHP UK? A friend of a friend has recently become a reseller for them and has offered me a very good price for a stage 1 remap for my Td5, anybody any experience of their maps?

Never heard of them before on the forum. Nevertheless the website is relatively impressive. Personally if it's a tune you're after I would stick with either Pete Bell from Bell Auto Services or Gary from Alive, both are very highly recommended and offer a range of products and remaps to get the very best out of your Defender. From BHP I would imagine all you will be getting would be a generic map for a stock vehicle. If you already have a larger intercooler, egr valve blanked, decat pipe or any other modifications their tune may not be right for you and you certainly will not be getting the best out of your tune.
If you've a standard truck, he's a good mate and can get a decent price you yourself need to consider 'What could possibly go wrong if you're not happy?' If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

My truck is standard apart from the EGR valve being blanked off with a kit from Alive. Out of Bell and Alive, Bell auto are the closest to me but still over 100 miles away.
Mate's mate has offered to load up the map free of charge and let me run it for a week or so, if not happy then he'll put it back to standard. If I am happy then he'll charge me 200 quid which seems a very good deal.
He is a good guy with a lot of experience so may be able to tweak things a little on the BHP UK supplied map for the EGR blank.
Will probably go for it and see how it goes but would have been good to hear of other people's experiences.

Due to extensive excellent results, recommendations, communication and the fact the entire development process for them to get where they are today has been posted on here I think most people are happy to pay the extra and procure from the two companies aforementioned B.A.S and Alive. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

boet, Bell is around 15,000km from me and I still got a remap from Pete.

Fantastic service over the phone and always willing to respond via PM/email almost any time of the day.

Naks...I concur, distance is not an issue. I considered tuning options for a good long time, using the experience of forum members to arrive at my decision, and eventually went with 150 tune from Pete ay BAS using his BAS2 tuning option through my phone, it worked very well...Pete was on hand by phone or email, and I have to say I'm delighted with the results....it drives so much better than standard at normal speeds and there is much more shove at the far end of the throttle travel.
