Changing the Front LR text to Defender
Hello

Thought this might be an easy mod while I save for some more stuff..

Quite like the idea of the DEFENDER text on the front rather than LR.

Who has done this is it easy?

On a Black LR what colour would suit, I'm thinking black.. but then would you even see it?

Post a pic if you have black with Black text please, also black 3D lettering on rear rather than the sticker?

Thanks

Letters are easy enough to get off with a hair dryer and patience, however depending on the age of the paint you may notice ghosting of the original Land Rover lettering due to the paint underneath the letters being protected from UV light etc.
I like the idea of black lettering on a black bonnet though.

It's an easy job, especially with the right tools.

I did this on mine, sadly not the black with black you are looking for but the job is the same.

Buy a toffee wheel off ebay, makes the job a thousand times easier, it also removes unwanted and old stickers too, invaluable piece of kit. Also can be used for removing the glue after you remove number plates etc. 2016 D4 HSE

use thread or dental floss to get the old letters off. clean old sticky residue off with whatever method suits you best, i use my thumbs, then clean and T-Cut the are where the letters are going. stick on new letters.

Colour depends if your going for a contrast or a stealth. silver would give a good contrast or i do like the black on black look!

Black Defender badging on a Java Black double cab. 3D text on the rear.
I think these came from Flatdog at one of the shows, I compared with a 15 plate defender and the front badging is a tiny bit smaller, but not particularly noticeable.

I also inadvertently removed the strip below the defender lettering on the back. Truth be told it got stuck on a microfibre cloth and snapped off rather easily. Looks better now imho. 110 Tdci Double Cab

One from further away if that helps, it's quite subtle on the rear, but I much prefer it to grey / silver.

That's great, I don't want bling hence the black with black wheels etc...

I do like the Urban Truck 'look'

Better get them ordered.

I have the same dilemma having removed the naff OVERLAND badging it came with.
My vehicle is black with grey roof and wheels - so can't decide on black or grey lettering.

At less than a tenner - I don't suppose it really matters:

Hello Stacy007

Personally I like the L A N D R O V E R spaced correctly, but as an addition
have thought about applying the smaller 3D DEFENDER lettering below the bonnet
where LR used to place a graphic badge (200 / 300 tdi's and TD5s)

Not yet applied, but the Lettering from SP 4X4 looks good, nicely moulded, painted
and with 3M VHB Tape should be as good as the OEM LR Lettering.

SP Global is where I got mine too.
Been on already for a year or two, still look like new and absolutely no problems at all.

Hi mate, if this was addressed to me, it's an old Scorpion Racing unit, it's been stripped and powder coated since then.

See here for similar.
