It does depend on what the ecu outputs if the can sensor is available on live data screen or not, but as you say it would produce a colleration error if it was not their and cause rpm signal faults on the crank sensor/rpm output in live data I suspect. Pete |

Your file has immobliser removed already so I can not really charge again for it, the original software file ill give you for free so all you need is the hardware for diagnostics and the file is free.

Im sure someone is against me this week hehe.
Ive just been out to a call out to put to standard another car that has running issues and to code in a new VCV. I get to read the car out and find that "Dan the Man" has been their before me with his Transit ID software. I then looked on the screen on the car and all the tell tail stickers are present of its source. It does seem dan the man should be renamed dan dan the geneic transit man. |

Pete, does this mean that you have now actually figured out who Dan the Man is? I appreciate that you may not want to identify him in public, but is he a UK based tuner (I use the term "tuner" loosely because I can't think of a better word, at least not one for a family forum)?

Like the insurance advert,, oooh yes I certianly have.
UK based & very suprising to some is also relevent. Ive also found out that the checksums of the files are incorrect stopping correct diagnosis as well as an attempt to stop overwrite and readout with other tools. Dirty tricks I think. |

The story continues...got the excellent diagnostic tool from Pete at Bell Auto Services and ran a fault check. Unfortunately this came back with 11 faults listed below! Does anyone have any comments/advice/thoughts on the codes? Maybe all these faults are common and related to one another?
P0115-17(2F) P1402-16(2F) P0110-15(2 P0235-21(2F) P2562-34(2F) P0403-1B(2 P0046-1B(2 P0180-15(2 P0645-23(2 P068B-00(2 P0623-13(2 Any help on what I should do next would be very much appreciated! |

Please email your self with the faults direct from the app it self and then paste the test here as this adds text info to the fault codes also which makes them easer to understand.
Do the same for the engine ecu infos You also NEED to clear the faults, do some cranking, then RE read then as some could be left over from the ecu sitting powered on the bench ! |

So before I cleared the faults this is what came back

Hmm! ECU info below. Perfect,, one step at a time now we will try work out whats wrong with it. As said those faults will bwe remaining mostly from bench testing.
Follw othis video and update the tool by pressing program flash files in the PC/MAC App https://secure.bellautoservices.co.uk/help...date-tool/ NOTE, The tool is ONLY connected to the PC/MAC or to the car, its NEVER connected to both at the same time. Once you have updated the tool with the updater software connect back to the car and look in the ECU Flash menu, you have 2 files waiting, select the IMMO one and follow the onscreen. |

Updated tool with latest ECU flash, followed onscreen instructions, cranked out and read live data engine RPM around 174 and fuel pressure 157,000!

Try the tow start we spoke about, if it does not start WITHOUT turning the key off read the fault codes on that same key cycle.

Just to keep the thread going so everyone can follow what's been happening. I tried to tow start reading the live data from Pete's diagnostic tool and had the RPM up around 1000 when lifting the clutch in 3rd gear. Engine didn't start but was good to see the RPM a lot higher than when cranking over when stationary.
Kept the key on, read faults, no faults recorded. Towed back to the house and last couple of days unscrewed nuts to the injectors to make sure fuel was getting up to them. All four injectors were getting fuel. Cranked over a few times, checked faults, no faults recorded other than a camshaft position sensor fault which was pretty weird as this had never showed up before. Cleared faults, cranked over some more (it's soooo close to starting but just won't take!!) read faults, no faults recorded. So next step I'm going to add more fuel to the tank as what is in it has been there for 2 years(!!) and order a VCV and swap that then see what happens after the new VCV has been programmed in with Pete's great little tool! With any luck next post will be I'm up and running but not getting too excited until Bubba actually starting first time and running smoothly! Huge thanks to Pete for all his help and patience so far to date!! |
