If anyone fancies a Hampshire meet in the new forest area I will be at the redshoot inn this weekend, at the beer festival, so I'll probably be plastered.

If I pop over again this December I'd love to meet up. If.
For now I can recommend the Dundas Arms as a nice spot, good fire, great ales, tasty food, lovely building and location.... http://www.dundasarms.co.uk Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

Nope. The current (and saddest) reference is that I grew up within earshot of Twickenham. The more apposite is that I lived a short stroll from the best pub in the world, The White Swan, Twickenham where I spent way too many hours as a novice ale drinker.
I chose the Dundas as a midway point on the M4 between W London and Brizzle where Mrs Grenadier hails from, as a suitable spit to spend the night and meet her parents when we lacked time to get to see them and the family in the West Country. Glad I found it and will certainly return. Lovely spot, even though it was a foggy December evening. It is a bit of a ritual that I always choose a new pub whenever I head home, as well as going to my trusty favourites: The White Swan, as mentioned The King's Arms, Waterloo The Cumberland Arms, North End Road The Grenadier. Wilton Crescent Mews The Albion, Brizzle The list goes on....but all highly recommended. Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |
