Elon's presentation style is not exactly 'fluid' but you cant help be impressed by the design features of the SUV.
Watch it from 14m30s to see the flacon wing doors...awesome! http://www.theverge.com/2015/9/30/9422095/...ch-in-full |

...apart from the annoying whoops, whistles and yelling from the sheeple in the audience. Steve.
Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades. Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW. [Insert something impressive here such as extensive list of previous Land Rovers or examples of your prestigeous and expensive items, trinkets, houses, bikes, vehicles etc] http://forums.lr4x4.com I used to be Miserable ...but now I'm ecstatic. |

Don't worry, in a couple more generations they'll evolve back into the trees and spend all day whooping, eating bananas, and throwing poo at visitors!

I'd be happy to volunteer them as part of the 80,000 contingent that Elon Musk wants to send to Mars, as a permanent settlement, in the next 10-20 years.

I can see what Tesla are trying to do but that presentation felt a little too much like an Apple new product launch. It seems Apple-fanboys now have competition for who can be the most enthusiastic about anything a commercial company puts new into the marketplace.
I wish Tesla would also develop an attractive car. Is it just me or do all the latest offerings look like they have been designed by someone from a Korean car company? Bland, curved and generally the design equivalent of vanilla ice cream. |

0 to 60mph in 3.2 secs in ludicrous mode. Sounds like fun to me.

Yes but a defender is ludicrous every day and in every way without even needing a 'mode'

I agree entirely. Every SUV in particular seems to look the same. The new Jag.....yuk! Even the iconic Discovery has succumbed to 'curves' in its new 'sport' variant. To me it's horrid, an overweight Freelander. |

Agree - they missed a trick on the styling - too bland/generic.
(The Model S looks good, and premium IRL) I wish they could just produce a 'normal' hatch type car, without all the nonsense doors and bling, and get the range up to 400miles + and at a more 'affordable' cost. I'm sure it would be just as quick too. But I suspect the margins are lower for that kind of car, so they are trying to stay high-end? |

This one is a little slower than the Falcon Wing to 100kph but it did a job on a V8 super car:
