As the title states, will they fit and is it legal, the 'does a 285 fit on a 7" wheel' comes up but what about the other way round?

Couple of reason's, maybe changing from the KM2 to an AT tyre will reduce the noise and also the drag and give me better stopping power, I have not been happy with the defner stopping power unladen, when i was on my Alps trip full laden I had a couple of moments that confirmed I need to do something about this. I am 95% tarmac so maybe KM2 was not the best choice and I was a because I copied you lot
If I was to change I would consider changing from 285 to 265 to bring the tyres in a bit and being totally honest, I think it sometimes i feel the strong defender shape with the big chunky wheels/tyres detracts from the rear character of the vehicle and how I might want it to look. Its on of those things, some days you want to own a defender and other days a D3. I am seeing what my options are without spending too much money. Provisionally looing at the BFG AT or the new Conti AT. May even put them on my boosts not sure yet, I have also got my eye on some brand new ZU someone is selling for £80 a corner but think without going through all the posts I will need spacers with 265 which again may detract from what look im after So a few reasons why |

Tack,
Have a look at Enduro Runways, always get excellent reports. I have them on the the truck I bought and can't fault them, also cheap at circa £70 a corner. They appear pretty well balanced between tarmac and off road, but the're not mud pluggers. Steve Defender 90 TD5 Station Wagon Discovery 3 HSE BMW 330i Coupe |

To be honest im thinking of doing similar, doing a fair amount of road miles at the moment and now i have a trailer, not sure about keeping the rack on either and will probably put the standard springs back on.
With little un in tow, my laning/mud plugging days out will be limited and to be honest unless you want to join the jeds on pay and play days, all terrains are just fine P.S You drive like a girl anyway so cant see why your having stopping issues You cannot teach stupid people to do clever things |

say's he who said yeah the D3's rubbish balh blah blah, go buy a defender Cant wait for you to get your D3, we can have another good CRACK https://s3-eu-west-2.amazonaws.com/i.hubnu...74a563.jpg this winter I would class it as more sliding than stopping, I remember this picture too Steve https://www.defender2.net/gallery/albums/u...C01384.JPG Good times....expensive too  Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated |

Tack I have BFG AT 265*75*16's on ZU's with no spacers - no problems at all, pictures in my gallery. I can't answer the question about boosts and this combination I'm afraid. Bob Last edited by bob neville on 6th Sep 2010 12:58pm. Edited 1 time in total |

Tack..the only reason for spacers on boosts are to give the truck a wider stance, my td5 was on 265s on boosts and never rubbed once, come to think of it neither did my 285s You cannot teach stupid people to do clever things

I have 265/75x16 General AT2 on Boost with 30mm spacers, works very well for me all round.
