I would add that the balance created in having the royals and a minister is something not to be underestimated. A Prime Minister and a Royal is very different to having a just a President. The only government model to rival the combination of having Minister and Royal is the Swiss model where we have no Swiss president, only a president of the Federal Council which constitutes 7 elected members who rotate responsibility for justice, finance, president, etc every year. Ask a Swiss who is the council president this year, and most won't be able to tell you.
