Click image to enlarge "A GROUP of four graduate engineers have just completed an 11,000-mile journey from Southampton to Mongolia as part of a charity fundraiser, to deliver a 4x4 to a Mongolian hospital with the aid of GoHelp." http://www.gazetteandherald.co.uk/news/137...and_Rover/ Interesting how much stuff they get onto the roof rack - although it may be bolted to the roll cage to help save the roof. I did that in an LDV Convoy minibus two years ago for the same charity, great fun.
Bertie the bus was brilliant, only breakdown was the viscous coupling in the fan disintegrating, and even in 30C heat in a city he didn't overheat. In Kazakhstan coming in to a city in the cool of an evening and seeing a thermometer reading 35C put a bit of perspective on things! Got him stuck in mud once and sand a few times. The sand was a lack of power more than anything else. |
