Mine is MY15, 110 USW went in for its first service last month, I didn't notice any difference. I use a well respected dealer..so I'd be surprised if they missed something? Sold Def 90 HT 2010...Stornaway..(SOLD in Oct 2014)
Current: delivered October 2014:- 110 USW XS.....Montalcino Red |

Certainly an interesting one. Joe_130's went in at the same time and his is no different. So not sure. Will see. I'm definitely not imagining it though. Maybe it's an unrelated issue.

I read somewhere on this forum about Land Rover introducing new throttle pedal maps for each gear. And something about the software ironing out many of 2.2 problems we all moan about.
I have done a search to find the thread but to no avail but I certainly read about it on here. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at.. http://www.youtube.com/user/conwy1 |

That would make sense. In first and second i don't really notice any major difference, but in third, the delay is tangible. If you know it's there you can drive appropriately, but this morning I entered a roundabout and not knowing it had changed, got no throttle when i thought there should be some with predictable results. Cue a nice man in an inferior 4x4 giving me a large dose of horn.

since it was only yesterday it might be too early to tell but do you think its the remap ie are the symptoms consistent? have you done many miles yet?
Probably going off on a tangent here so please excuse me. any chance there's any air in the fuel line from the filter change or perhaps the filter isn't on properly and it's letting air in? it's any easy one to check - so might be worth a look if you're symptoms are a intermittent. |

Phone the dealer and ask them if they've carried out a software upgrade? If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!
Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

Hi All
My 90 is due for it's 1st in the next 2-3weeks, out of interest how much is a Defender 1st service from a main dealer? I understand the 1st service is basically a oil service so should not be a great deal of difference between a 90 & 110! |

There's no difference. A 90/110/130 they're all the same cost. And to answer your question, approx £405-480 depending on where you get it done.
Utter rip off as far as I'm concerned. Just keeps your warranty ticket. We were told that the dealers normally do a pay per month option however with a 20% discount, still waiting for details on this....... He said service 2 would be upper £600's!!! |

Hi Matt110
Thanks for the reply you have confirmed my fears and I agree with it's a Utter rip off . Called my local dealer this morning and was quoted £494 but that did include vat! When I questioned the price the reply was "well it is a Land Rover Sir" Also asked if they did a three or four year service plan for Defenders but the reply was it's not in place at the moment. Will make a few calls tomorrow. Def90 |

Check they're not adding "fluids". Or they'll charge you for £25 of water stuff to fill the washer bottle, and a load of spare oil in 1L bottles which gives them another opportunity to make money. Just write on the job form " No Fluids" and it'll save you about £50 ish from my experience. The £405 was with VAT... From this forum I think. Bargain with them they do come down.

Take it to a good independent and make sure they understand that it's under warranty. There really is no reason to use franchise dealers for servicing. http://www.yorkshireoffroadclub.net/
