new Air Vent / active cooling
new Air Vent / active cooling

Hi i've integrated this air vent in my Puma TDCi

- temp controller with tresholds start by 50 % @ 20°C linear to 100% @ 30°C
- 120x120mm vent 20 dB @ 100% and 90 m³/h on0.12Ah

>>result: reduces temp in interieur (from 60°C to 39°C) 27° ambient temp. and clear sky > car standing 100% in the sun

...what do you think ?

Well, I like it, even if I can't quite work out where it is.

Does this fit to the top of the window glass on a partially opened window?

You can buy a nice infill panel for the rear door windows from Brendan. After seeing a pair last year, I thought they were great. Purchased a set and the dog is a huge amount happier in the rear now. Well worth the money 110 D250 SE HT

'anyone do them for the rear sliding windows in a 90sw ?'

I wondered that as well as I camp in mine often and use the window top ones at the moment but could do with more cooling when over on the continent for the summer ... Wink
have thought about making something up my self with Mozzie mesh as I've got fixed internal window guards, a wire frame inside a mesh bag may be all that is needed .... any ideas anyone ...
meanwhile back to pondering !! Poppy - TDCI (Puma) 110XS 2.2 - Camper conversion - see the build here - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic56530.html

I'm really interested in this.

Can you provide more pictures of it fitted and not?

Also a list of components?

I have a 110 Utility, and the rear lacks ventilation as it has no sliding windows.

I quite fancy fitting something like this in the Window as a temporary solution when carrying the dogs, with a short tubing into the rear to help with air circulation - but I need it to be active.

Looks really well made too Smile Now: 2010 2.4 TDCi 110 Utility Wagon

I like Dacxdocx version, is it entirely home made or is there a package that can be obtained from somewhere?

I wanted some plain panels like the ones Brendan sells. But the price almost doubled. I was informed that when they laser cut the panels out they also cut the slots for the vents. So to have a blank panel would mean changing the laser cutter programme it made it uneconomical.
So I'm now looking for other options. I have made a panel from 5mm perspex which does the job but it's not exactly how I want it 110 D250 SE HT
