Hi all,
I am looking for a steel mesh trailer (ball hitch - not NATO) with a ramp. I know this is the sort of thing that people have sitting around barely being used... so thought I would just put a note on here... just in case. Stop me before I buy this one new... http://www.paxtontrailers.co.uk/trailers.php#ranger |

Not heard of Paxton trailers but it’s all depending what size you are after an 8x5 single axle trailer might give you problems with load stability also I can see no mention of any brakes but Trailers do not have to be fitted with brakes until the gross weight exceeds 750 kg also leaf suspension is not as good as independent rubber suspension when towing though at £1,045.00 it sounds a bargain.
If you are going to buy new I swear by Bateson trailers and I have two both 8x5 with ramp and both twin axle hot dipped galvanised steel chassis with 2mm thick pre-galvanised steel sides 300mm deep and an 18mm phenol coated non-slip plywood floor. The independent rubber suspension axles have auto reversing brakes, operated by cast steel hydraulic damped over run coupling with a power assisted hand brake and integral jockey wheel. Full road lights are fitted and the specially designed damage resistant mudguards are fitted with aluminium tread plate ‘stand on’ tops. More expensive than the one you are interested in but in build quality and longevity and a dream to tow and have good resale value, this one is hard to beat. Bateson’s do most sizes so you will find one to suit. http://www.batesontrailers.com/product/gen...al-purpose For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at.. http://www.youtube.com/user/conwy1 |

I used a Paxton trailer Thursday, nice trailer, basic build, tinny, but did its job and I would happily buy one. Just depends how much you plan to use it, or abuse it.
