I have these tyres fitted to HD Steel Rims and had to go to a tyre shop that specialises in Ford Transits in order to get a decent job done.
By using a fancy computerised machine for commercial vehicles, the technician did a neat job, although two of the rims ended up with a fair amount of weights to get a decent result. I now have zero issues at any speed and I'm delighted with the tyres. I understand that the cone for the balancing machine is the same one as for a Ford Transit and the average tyre shop doing cars won't invest in the correct tool. |

Thanks for the above answer. I'll try this, otherwise they will be going back to the supplier as unfit for purpose. At a steady 80 it's not to bad, until you have to turn slightly then vibrations start again.

I have these fitted on 16 inch sawtooths I don't have any vibration as such but they do appear to make a drumming/humming warble at 50 plus?? Do yours make noise as well?
I was trying to figure out what it was. |

Had mine fitted a couple of months ago.
They are on 30mm spacers and no wobbling or noise at all. Mind you they were fitted by AJS tyres! Andy Defender Td5 XS90 |

Are your sawtooths original or aftermarket?
If aftermarket, it may be the rims. I bought a set recently with BFG at's and they had a wobble at 55 ish, three different tyre companies balanced them saying the machine said they were ok, but clearly they weren't. They were sent back to the supplier and a full refund given.. I run the good years on wolf rims at moment, factory supply and no issues what so ever. Pete |

Strangely i've Just swapped my Wranglers on Boosts to BFG's on 18" Overfinch Apollo's today but no probs at all or on my prev 64 plate (rejected due to poor LR build quality) and performed excellently in the 4500 miles i did in it, even up to 85 - 90mph altho i haven't been so fast in my new 15 plate 90.
I'd thoroughly recommend them and had them fitted as an extra when i ordered my original 90 just in case i should ever want to venture off road !!!! Wheels were a good shout. Have you sorted this now and what was it ??? |
