I have stayed here a few times on the way to and from the "Le Bal des Series" events held by the www.le-temps-des-series.com/ club in France.
http://www.campsites-france-lac-des-varennes.co.uk/ There is a lake on site and lots of activities. Nearby in the town of La Chartre-sur-le-Loir, there is the Hotel de France, and last time I was there, the walls were covered in black and white pictures of old drivers etc from the Le Mans races, as they used to come to this town while the events were on. I've stayed in the hotel de France on many occasions, best was just after the classic Le Mans event, all the greats and their teams have stayed there over the years!.. Great place, great pictures, think it's been taken over by some Brits recently but by all accounts still a lovely place to stay.

They guys I go to Le Mans with have been staying at Chateaux Chanteloup for the past 9 years. You cannot go wrong with it. Even the beer isn't too bad at the bar there.
