Thanks guys.
TBH i could have bought one already done, but i enjoy doing things myself. Plus finding the right spec one in the right colour was not possible, so a respray was pretty much required anyway. It is great watching the transfer happen each weekend. |

DIY respray or workshop? If the latter, can I ask how much? If the former, want a weekend in the French Alps? Monsieur Le Grenadier

I have had a friend do the painting for me and a friend build the cage after i drew up a general design and spec, but everything else i have done with help from my dad and friends. Oh i did painting of front bumper, rear bumper and tow hitch with two new brackets. I also did all the painting underneath, but with waxoil which was the worst job to do as needed three baths after it. Other than that i have done everything else.
Wish i could paint or weld that good. |

Paint job cost me £1400 though my mate, but he has said if he was painting for a normal customer then it would have been nearer £2500 - £3000.
WHeels have been painted too for that, but only as temp job (although they look mint) as i will get them powder coated when needed. |

Thanks gents
Yes these are the new KO2s. They look real good. ALready done around 800 mile on them and you can't even tell at all. Today we have made up the flooring which will go between the two raised outer box/ seat sections. I wanted to have something that was strong enough to use as a bed, be able to take apart and stack in the front section of the rear cabin and not be any higher than the existing raised boxes. THe grid is GRP and is made for bridge walkways and the runners are protective trays for eacrthing straps. You can see the grid section is made of four panels across the length meaning they stack real nice inbetween the existing raised boxes. In the event of getting stuck offroad or in snow or sand they also double up as sand ladders Not sure how much something like this would cost as a kit, but i have managed to get it all FOC from work as it was scrap material |
