DRL Bumpers
Hi,

Prob been covered before and if so my man K9F will be telling me of lol (Sorry mal)

Some of you may have seen that i maybe looking to seel but the misses is telling me not to as i would reget it and many of you on here will agree lol, but if i do keep it i will want to do a few more bits etc and one is a DRL Bumper non winch, so what are the better quailty ones and where do i go that wont also break the bank?

D44 do a nice bumper but the DRLs are etc so would be over £300 and some of the other look cheap?, i like the look of the Je Eng one but cant see it up close so to speak? (Im Picky lol)?

Also i would want to do the following:

Inside side panels
Cooper STT 265-75-16
Glove box kit
Nice Seat covers
Flag decal on the bulge of the bonnet
Tint the rear windows
Re power coat/Paint my side steps/Bars
Maybe a new a Bar

Cheers for the help in advance on the DRL tho

Stu

I like the flatdog one as the Drls seem to be recessed the neatest for a rectangle light (which I prefer) but my ocd says the lights should be round to match the rest of the lights. So I'm undecided weather to get a drl bumper or not Ray

I have a new unused glovebox kit that I've not used. Brand new, only opened the box to look at it. But have decided not to go down that route.

The Nakatanenga one has round holes for 70mm nolden lights. The White 90 has one with 3 holes for drl, driving ant fogs and I know there is also one with 2 holes cos afaik this is going on the 110.
Anything further or more technical, speak to Brendan as counting how many holes and saying what shape they are is the limit of my technical ability.

Have a look at the outbound 4x4 ones. They require the drilling of an 80mm hole and the fitting kit is very good, including a quality abs plinth to make the hole look attractive and a wiring kit where all the wires are a perfect length for a neat install. It's what I fitted. 2002 110 td5

A lot of people have preference for the round DRLs because vehicle's other lights are also round. However, the rectangular ones work well because the Defender itself is boxy ( in my view). Both look nice.

Just had a quick look at the urban truck website and the DRLs appear to be the same as the outbound 4x4 ones so good choice. Cool 2002 110 td5

How did you drill the 80mm hole mate? Hole saw or jig saw? Question YOLO... You Only Live Once...

Hole saw. Nice and slow with plenty of lube. I used wd40 as it was all I had to hand but it worked well. I was drilling a heavy duty winch bumper which was a good 5mm thick. It went through with surprising ease.

It was a good hole saw though. Bosch from screwfix

I drilled the pilot hole first with a separate 6mm drill. Then passed the built in pilot drill through it as it seems to make starting the cut a little easier. 2002 110 td5
