Interesting the order they put their recommendations up!
First was get a snorkel, second was To walk the river then not go to fast. I would suggest first should come get some common sense, understand your vehicle and do not try to impress bystanders/ video makers should come well before get a snorkel! Next walk the river and 'plan' your route so you have a good idea where all your wheels will be. Especially if towing a trailer! Brendan |

Jeeps and water have never mixed though. I had a poke around a wrangler the other day, appauling piece of crap!
Clearly made to a price and image comes first. Cheers, David Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8. |

We discovered this 15 years ago when a Jeep Wrangler came to a halt at a Scottish Off Road Club event! Water in the bores so we checked the air intake: a T shaped pipe in front and the bottom of the radiator!
Can you believe it? Motor fixed (luckily) in about an hour, plugs out and crank the engine to pump the water out. No damage done! So Jeep haven't learned then....... |

at 0:42 you clearly see water coming/being pushed from under the bonet.
Wonder if there is some "scoop" forcing the water up into the engine bay, instead of making a bow wave. I know you can overrun your bow wave easily and he's going way too fast but i never see one forming in the video at any moment. hmm, never a big fan of water and engines since i once had water coming back at me and killing the whole bow wave theory in an instant. Check the sides a flooded road are not higher than your wading depth limit, water will bounce on the sides and perfect bow wave or not attack from the flanks and drown your engine in an instant. |

All the problems could have been avoided if the driver had engaged his brain beforehand.
Actually since he's American there is an obvious flaw with that suggestion, it isn't going to work at all! (No offence intended to our contributors across the pond ) |
