Rope Hood Elastic - STC4005
So my gf offers to open up the back of the Defender for the very first time. Two minutes later she comes back in to the house with this:

saying that it just came off in her hand Rolling Eyes

Anyway all the others look to be in about the same condition - hardly surprising when you see the quality of the hole the elastic passes through - how expensive would it have been to finish the hole with some form of smooth collar:

Anyway, I learned something - I didn't realise that there was a velcro'd seam there:

Anyone know the LR part number for a replacement?

I have found STC4005 but it is the earlier version:

Martin - thanks, I'll have a dig around with that part number. It's actually from the back flap that rolls up - one of the three that hook under the cleats on the tip of the tailgate.

Munch - was going to get my pound of flesh as it's still under warranty; but wanted to get the right part number before visiting my local dealer.

Will be looking for some decent eyelets also, as the lack of them appears to be at the root cause of the failure.

None of my previous canopies have been so poorly finished. These pvc ones are utter rubbish.
