You should be asking if it'll fit on a Transit roofrack

Thanks Nidge, TC seems to be the Irish agent for Richards chassis. I've sent them an email so they'll probably refer me to him.

Can't get a price on Marsland website. I take it the price and quality is similar?

Marsland don't answer their phone and didn't reply to messages
Richards have a 6-10 week delay from ordering to supply They say they are now working flat out and are making 120 chassis a month. That's a lot of rusty Land Rovers. |

Another +1 for Richards, they were really helpful when I asked for adjustments and changes to be made to my new chassis prior to galvanising. Additionally they use a slightly thicker steel than Marslands.
The only advantage I can see of the Marsland option (300tdi in my case) is that they have the adjustable rail on the rear cross member that helps with tub alignment. That is not to say I have seen anything negative on the Marsland variant however. If you are after one quick then Paddocks keep a stock of Marsland chassis, otherwise my money would go to Richards once again. |

I used a Richards Chassis on my 88". Will be using a Marslands on the 110 as the body mounts were well out of line on the 88" chassis, had to modify the bulkhead slightly to get a sensible door gap.
The Marsland ones are made by GKN as for Land Rover and then Marsland mofify them to suit different engines. This means they are of the same construction as the original (two C-members welded rather than four flat pieces) which may be of note if you are looking for originality points at least as far as appearance goes. Interestingly when I spoke to Marsland a short while back they were unable to guarantee that they will be able to supply one after Defender production finishes. Presumably GKN will stop making them for LR so their supply will dry up, hopefully they will be able to find some way of keeping production though I doubt it as I suspect Marsland's business accounts for a very small number of the chassis GKN produce. |

Interesting, however if Defender production continues overseas as seem likely then someone somewhere will still be making chassis.
Somewhat off topic, but can anyone confirm my memory - when I rechassis my 86" back in the 1990s the chassis I used came from Steve Walker IIRC. I think that this later became Richards Chassis, but can anyone confirm? Also does anyone know who makes the chassis for the Series One Club? Again, I think it is Richards Chassis. Thanks |
