I recently swapped from 15" Mach 5s shod with Cooper STTs to 16" Mach 5s with BFG KM2s. The 16" affords you the ability of cleaning the entire wheel from the face being able to get a ham fist and large sponge between the spokes all the way to the inner edge. As a footnote if you do go for the more aggressive tyre the Cooper STTs are noisy as hell in comparison to the BFGs in my opinion. Mach 5s are also rare as hen's teeth as the steels are no longer made.
If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

I had the STTs before, but not having had any other MTs I can't say they were noisier or not.
It seems there's a supply issue with the KM2 tyre at the moment. I love the 'look' of a more aggressive pattern, and the STT and KM2 are in a league of 2. A Defender on road biased tyres looks a bit namby pamby IMHO. I really like the Black SVX alloy, simple and stylish. Am going off the ZU's though. 2016 D4 HSE 1998 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF 1982 Series 3 SWB Petrol |

such vanity, how about just using the the thing and forget about the ba ba bing cause the ca ca ching is only a look.
Depending on your use. I was looking at some Marc's but do a fair bit of dirt road touring at GVM. I was talking to a wheel maker and he said keep the standard wolf rims. Boring but practical. The 6mm mounting plate doesn't flex sideways, and because it's mounted to the hoop with big flat feet it won't eventually punch or crack a spoke where it mounts. So I guess LR got it right. Maybe just repaint the standard Boosts and save the coin. on tyres I have found BFG muds great for grip and long lasting if you look after rotation, balance, and pressures. I will be buying another set. They may not suit a Racier type driver though, they are a mud after all and should be remembered as so. Have had Cooper ST's and find them noiser at 90% tread compared to my BFG's at 30%. They are an older tread pattern though, but BFG are always slammed for old design. I find reviews on Coopers at 50-50 love hate, but BFG are 90% love so that says something to me. Have had BFG AT also but feel the KM2/s are better value for money. The AT are quieter but that is all, and in a Defender noise is not a deal breaker. My Defender and travels |

CR, Are these the ones from John Craddock? Are you on Cooper ST Maxx tyres and what size? Would you rate the ST Maxx? 2016 D4 HSE 1998 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF 1982 Series 3 SWB Petrol |
