clutch cylinders replacement
Hi,
o.k. started replacing both the slave and master cylinders on Effie my 2004 110 county.
Apart from having the wrong sized hands to fight the flexible pipe bracket that is mounted via the upper slave cylinder bolt that went fine.
Just about to take out the clutch pedal box assembly to do the other end and noticed a small difference.

The Land Rover defender 110 parts manual pages for the clutch master cylinder shows the pipe to the slave cylinder going directly into the master cylinder.

On Effie, there is a "T" piece so the pipe goes into the side and there's a sensor of some sort sticking out the top.

I'm assuming that the master cylinder itself is the same partno as its ever been and the "T" pieve is just an addon to it.

Anyone got access to 2004 def 110 parts catalogue?

Rgds

Also the "T" piece is two banjo type fittings, which do look like a "T" when together Smile  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

Well, cylinders done. As usual it wasn't the bits that you'd think would take the longest that did.

Slave cylinder not a problem ..... until it came to trying to connect up the wee metal pipe from the slave cylinder to the flexible hose.

slave cylinder + hose mounting bracket on top bolt no problem
fitting that pipe that goes from cylinder to hose .... nope not enough room.

cylinder minus hose mounting bracket + pipe from cylinder to hose - not a problem.

Took ages to get everything connected!

Master cylinder - yup move the coolant header tank a wee bit and everything came out and went back in again no problem.

Trying to slide the plastic bits at the back over the metal mounting bracket took ... shall we say .... a while. Just as I was about to say " Censored it that'll do" the damn thing slipped in to position no problem.

After that it was just a case of bleeding the system. Still a wee bit of air in there but it'll sort itself out.

quite pleased really

Next thing on the list is to replace manifolds and Zenith carb on my Series 3 with an ACR Engineering SU carb setup + both manifolds.
