A couple of very good friends have recently taken over the Braemar Caravan and Camping Park in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park. They are very keen to attract Land Rover owners on tours of Scotland so I thought I'd give them a plug on here
If anyone gets a chance to pay Dean and Emily a visit please make sure you tell them Daddy2Coull told you about them http://www.braemarcaravanpark.co.uk/ DON'T PANIC |

Yep - lovely site. Stayed a few times. Lovely facilities, and well-located Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's)

Had a great weekend at Braemar - camping area much bigger than when I was there 13 years ago and had I taken my awning would have had plenty of space! Though might be a bit tight in peak season. On area is for hiking tents and another area for larger tents with cars next to them.
The wardens couldn't have been nicer. Particularly as I arrived towing a German 110 that I rescued enroute! It had broken down a few miles away, think it was combination of running out of fuel and a knackered fuel pump. The wardens kindly lent them a can of diesel to try and get it running. Cracking weekend and the weather was good. Will be back soon. View towards Linn of Dee and Marr Lodge: Click image to enlarge |

That might be handy for those planning an assault on the steep ascent up past Corgarf Castle to The Lecht Ski Centre and then Tomintoul. A most interesting drive, especially when snowy?
