Performance brake discs
I would like to improve the braking on my 110 and I'm looking for some performance brake discs + pads.

I don't like the common "performance discs" that everybody sell (Terrafirma, Bearmach,Britpart etc...):the grooves are very few and shallow, while the holes, in my opinion, are unnecessary and can cause cracks or failure in case of strong stress.

I've found on the bay those discs, the 20 groove is the one I'm looking for, does someone knows this company or has any other suggestion? Thumbs Up Matteo

I have fitted EBC discs and green stuff pads along with Goodridge ss hoses to the front and rear of my 300tdi and found a huge improvement compared to standard ,have been on the vehicle for 40k good stopping power but much better when warm.

Wich MY is your 300??
Because only the last production has front vented disc, otherwise there is a big difference between standard vented and non-vented disc...

The 110 from 1999 has front vented disc, wich improved the braking performance, but power of braking is still ridiculous... Neutral Matteo

I agree, braking power is lousy. I wonder why a similar size truck (any jap-chinese-korean) has better performance. Puma 110" SW

I don't think so.... Laughing Not at another 122 Euros minimum postage for 19kg to Greece Dgardel (only 25 Euros to Italy though)!

There have been a couple of occassions due to 'my style' of driving that I have had to stamp on the brakes pretty hard, both times I could not have expected them to perform any better. Why is it you feel the need to upgrade? Just a query from an interested individual. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Those are drilled....not the ones I'm looking for...

I've received a quotation from Nitrac and a full set of performance Cryogenically treated 16 groove discs for Defender cost £366 includes VAT and shipping.

I'm also waiting a quotation for Tarox g88 Matteo

I use my Def quite often on motorway and mountain, and in both cases I've found lack of power braking, either for speed in the first case or the powder in the second.
Changing only brakes pads I'll not solve the problem. Matteo

It's not the braking power but more the controll off the braking power and tyres;

They're only about 2-tonnes. Freelander is approx 1.7 tonnes and brakes far better. Navara is 2.2 tonnes and even with rear drums brakes a bit better.

Then again with all the bling people seem to hang off Defenders they're probably closer to 3-4 tonnes Wink

My 90 mainly does motorways and country lanes at national speed and i have to say the brakes and action is perfect - couldnt ask for more - better than the other cars...but not the RRS when i have it

Within the first 7 days - country lane (wide) traveling at 60 tractor pulls out (classic image) brake and swerve - brakes perfect. Mike
