Depends on the primer used on them , some primers are a bit porous so might end up with rust breaking out on them
best to put a top coat on to seal them up |

I have some painted white, new from Land Rover. I think the paint will be lucky to last a few winter months. Very poor finish.

The black paint they come with is only to protect them for storeage and rust will appear very quickly so prime and paint them before fitting.
PS fit oversize tubeless valves and not tubes. Most tyre bays keep them. 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS.. |

If it's a wheel designed for tubes you should really fit them, there is no raised lip to retain the bead of a tubeless tyre on them. It's one of those things where you could fit it and probably do 100,000 miles without incident, but should the worst happen you'd be up the creek so to speak. Similar to fitting insufficiently rated wheels for example.
Why anyone would want tubes these days is beyond me anyway! |

Have one set (tubeless) in white and one set in black. Finish on both is a laugh.
Will have both sets repainted. |

thanks for all replies.
today I left them at the paint shop; will be ready on Tue. Why tubes? I want to drive Siberia during winter; tubes were recommended by people living there |
