Not sure how much "not to expensive" is? But this is the system I just installed in my landy. The head unit is Alpine CDA-117Ri which I got from Car audio direct.I also got the seperate Bluetooth unit KCE-400BT ( as a side note, the OH says the quality of the phone conversation is superb and a lot better than the Plantronics bluetooth headset that I paid £60 for Plus it comes with a Ipod direct control lead allowing the usb connection(which is used to connect the supplied Ipod lead included with the head unit) on the head unit to be used with a memory stick). I am well chuffed with the quality of the sound using the standard speaker setup, although I will be upgrading the speakers and adding an amp unit in the future
I even tuned it into the old foggies radio station RTE on long wave for you too see Click image to enlarge It doesn't look out of place in the dash either, Click image to enlarge I fed the Ipod/usb cable up into the cubby hole to the right of the steering wheel to allow handy access and to keep the installation tidy Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Head unit: £253.99 delivered. http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/alpine-cda-117ri.html Bluetooth unit: £129.99 delivered. http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/alpine-kce-400bt.html Hope this helps and is what you where after Brian. |

It's a good idea having the Iphone integrated into the head unit, less cables cluttering up the dash. Only downside I can see is when the Iphone 4 is upgraded to Iphone 5, will the new version still work in the head unit? |
